Rotation Index & How to Break-In A Bat

We here at CheapBats.com have had a lot of questions recently like… “How much should I rotate my bat between hits?” “How do I properly break-in my composite bat?” “What is DeMarini’s Rotation Index?” These are all great questions that I am going to answer for you!   An example of the 4 hitting surfaces of the DeMarini CF6. Each turn would be referred to as a “quarter turn”. First off, let’s talk about rotating your bat properly. The ideal thing to do is, after each time you swing and make contact with the ball, rotate your bat by doing a “quarter turn”. This allows you to have 4 solid hits on 4 different spots on the face of the barrel before returning to the original hitting spot you started with. So, if you are at batting practice and hit 100 balls, each quarter part of the barrel is only absorbing 25 hits and ensures the bat lasts as long as it should. Baseball Bat Review: 2014 DeMarini Overlord BBCOR Stiff. Powerful. Solid. The newest bat is the 2014 Voodoo DeMarini Overlord BBCOR Bat. We swung the high school / college Overlord bat, and we were very impressed. Not only were baseballs getting through the infield faster, but the warning track power hits were getting over the fence. Really Cool Knob, or RCK knob as Demarini calls it The knob is smooth and curved in a way to keep your palm from getting irritated when swinging. This actually is really cool when we spent a lot of time in the batting cage taking hacks for extended periods of time.
